Welcome to Survey Merchandiser!
This guide walks you through the exact steps to get started, complete your first visit successfully, and get paid on time. Reading this article will answer most of the questions new merchandisers ask.
Step 1: Download the App & Register
Download Survey Merchandiser from the App Store or Google Play.
Open the app and start registration.
Carefully read and acknowledge the Terms of Service (ToS), you will need to do this before you can start any gigs.
Once registered, you can log in and explore the app.
Step 2: Enroll in Openforce (Required for Payment)
Survey Merchandiser uses Openforce as our only payment method.
To receive payment, you must complete your Openforce enrollment:
-
To enroll with Openforce please copy and paste this link into your browser and begin enrollment. https://icm.oforce.com/Enrollment/Wizard/Activate?code=C04C7F08-375F

- You can either select: Direct Deposit (recommended) or the Focus Card where you can gain access to a digital card immediately after enrollment and a physical card will arrive within 7–10 business days
- The activation code will pre-fill, but if it doesn’t, it is C04C7F08-375F.
- Complete your enrollment before accepting any projects
Payments are processed on the next business day when requested before 5 PM ET.
If you haven’t enrolled, you will not be able to receive payment.
Step 3: Complete the Onboarding “Cookie Audit”
Look for the “Cookies Section Audit” project in your app. This is a short onboarding project that helps you:
Learn how to claim and start a visit
Answer survey questions correctly
Take and upload photos using the app
This quick audit shows you exactly how the app works before your first real project.
Step 4: Visit the Learning Center
Before completing your first visit, review the following best-practice articles:
Scanner Access and Backroom Efforts
Dress Code Policy
Preparing for Visits and Manager Interaction
Need Help? Here’s Who to Contact (and Who Not To)
These short lessons will help you avoid mistakes and ensure you’re ready for in-store work.
Step 5: Get to Know “Chat with Steve”
Chat with Steve is your in-app help assistant.
Start by typing a question or tapping an option that fits your situation.
For new merchandisers, spend a few minutes exploring Steve’s guidance — he can walk you through company policies, troubleshooting steps, and how to get support quickly.
💡 Tip: “Chat with Steve” can often solve your issue faster than sending an email or ticket.
Step 6: Don’t Go to a Store Without an Assigned Visit
You should never go to a store unless you have an assigned visit in your app.
If the project is not visible under your Assigned Projects list, you are not scheduled and will not be paid for that time.
Always make sure:
The visit appears in your app
You can tap Start
You see full instructions and a deadline
Step 7: During Your Visit
Keep location services turned on, this serves as your time card and confirms that you are at the correct location and confirms the time you were onsite completing the gigs.
Take clear, well-lit photos showing all required details.
Leave notes if anything unexpected happens (for example, out-of-stock or missing product).
Always remain professional — you represent our clients’ brands.
Step 8: Understanding Project Types
Here’s what you might see in the app:
| Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Audits | Enter data and take photos of products and promotions. |
| Merchandising | Stock shelves, add stickers, or set up displays (materials may be shipped). |
| Resets | Replace old products with new ones (4–8 hour shifts). |
| Brand Ambassador / Sell-Ins | Promote products and assist store managers with orders. |
| Community Sampling | Purchase and sample products (reimbursed if instructions are followed). |
Every project lists its requirements, deadline, and pay so you can choose which ones to complete.
Step 9: How to Get Assigned
You can receive projects in three ways:
Claiming: “Instantly Claim and Go” — claim and complete by the listed deadline.
Requesting: Browse the Available section and request a project.
Direct Offers: Survey may message you with grouped store assignments.
Step 10: Getting Paid
Approved projects are typically processed for payment up to 6 days from the day you upload.
Once approved, you can request payment anytime in the app.
Requests made before 5 PM ET (Mon–Fri) are paid on the next business day. Payments are not processed on Weekends or Holidays.
Step 11: Find More Answers
Visit the Support Center for full FAQs, including:
What You Need to Know (New Rep FAQ)
Payment details and timelines
Photo examples and quality standards
Reporting issues or missing materials
Final Tip
Success starts with preparation.
Read your instructions carefully, take quality photos, follow the planogram, and enter accurate data in the app.
Doing these things ensures smooth approvals, fast payment, and a great experience for both you and our clients.
