You're looking for a small display, endcap, or grab and go before you enter the checkout lane or on your way to it. 

Think areas before you actually go to checkout. It's a fixture or a small rack sitting before the checkout. It can also be a basket or small fixture on top of the small fridges. 

It is not in the checkout lane where the gum/candy is while you're waiting in line..
It is not right next to the register where the cashier is
